[9/01 Tues] Talk: Saving Lives in Wartime China

On Tuesday, 1st September, The Harvard Club of Beijing and the Yale Club of Beijing invited Dr. John Watt to Beijing. As a renowned historian on public health and medical history in China, Dr. John Watt had a talk on healthcare systems in wartime China and introduced his most recent work "Saving Lives in Wartime China: How Medical Reformers Build Modern Healthcare Systems Amid War and Epidemics, 1928-1945".

Dr. John Watt shared the story of how dedicated Chinese and American medical professionals together shaped a modern notion of public medicine and saved tens of thousands of lives during this turbulent period of history. The talk was warmly welcomed by about 50 alumni and non-alumi.
